ICT Showcase - some statistics

The Enterprise Ireland's ICT Showcase event on the 6th October 2008 has been a success. Ten very high quality close-to-market technologies were presented. Commercialisation opportunities from 9 top Irish research institutions were demonstrated. 11 posters describing the state-of-the-art applied researches were exhibited. There were more than 170 attendees. Many were coming from the VC/investor communities. 41 entrepreneurs attended and some were probably looking for new opportunities.

Joe Drumgooles recent Blog on EI Website

In case you haven't seen it. here is a reprint of a recent blog by Joe
Drumgoole http://enterprise-ireland.zircol.com/user/7468 ......Good message joe !

Basically he's saying that feedback mechanisms like this site enhance competitiveness.

I would add that the government can only foster things like this. Where they seek to "give it walls" or internalise processes outside of regular websocial norms things loose vibrancy.

Joe your royalty cheque is in mail!!!

Large-scale Wireless Sensor Network Architecture

This a Poster that has been presented in Enterprise Ireland ICT Showcase 2008.

It summarizes the technology being developed in SUMAC (an EI-funded project) with both its technological innovations and commercial aspects.

The objective of this project is to render WSN as easy to use as possible, by making them easy to deploy, easy to operate, and easy to leverage without requiring particular technical skills.

A start in bringing the Irish ICT research Community & Irish Industry together online

Having run the Annual Commercialisation Showcase in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland’s ICT Commercialisation unit for successive years Zircol.com (aka investnet ltd) became conscious of the need to bring industry and high quality research projects together the year round.

So we setup a Social network for it.
